Disclaimer: Don’t blame me if you starting spending way too much time on the web. These sites are addictive. Ok, you’re warned.

Mandatory for all knitters:

www.ravelry.com (the most useful site for knitters! Create an account.
Now!! I am waiting.)

www.knittinghelp.com (best video tutorials – free)

www.knitty.com (free online magazine; good source for free patterns)

www.knittingdaily.com (tons of free resources and free patterns)

Advanced tutorials:

www.techknitting.blogspot.com (best blog on knitting EVER!)

www.eunnyjang.com/knit/ (for more advanced techniques – great
tutorials on lace and steeks)

Yarn stores in Toronto:

www.romniwools.com (Queen x Bathurst) – “Home Sweet Home!”, but the
website sucks. Very helpful staff. Largest yarn store in Canada.

www.lettuceknit.com (Kensington Market) – premium top-quality natural fibers.

www.theknitcafetoronto.com (Queen West at Ossington) – good place to hang out

www.nakedsheep.ca (Queen East, Beaches area) – another cute yarn store
- super-friendly staff

www.purplepurl.com (Queen East, near Jones Ave.) – good place to hang out

www.knitomatic.com (St. Clair x Bathurst) – usually has good deals and sales

Yarn Boutique (closest to me at Bloor x Keele) – nice selection / fair prices

Online stores:

www.knitpicks.com (affordable premium yarns)

www.yarn.com (this is the largest online store I know of)

Local Community:

www.downtownknitcollective.ca (aka DKC – Toronto guild that holds
monthly meetings and an annual fair. It’s mostly for fun. )

And some good blogs (there are millions of knitting blogs out there):

www.yarnharlot.ca – Knitting humour. A must read. Really.

www.grumperina.com – She knows her stuff

www.brooklyntweed.blogspot.com – eye candy
