These gloves were commissioned through my Etsy store for a five-year old girl who loved her Mom’s gloves.

It was the first time I designed gloves for a child, and it was like flying in the dark. I had only the measurements that the buyer sent me, and no one to try them on.

It worked fine.

The buyer asked for extra long lacy gloves.  So she’ll look like a “‘medieval princess”. I’m happy with the result and I’m making some more. There is more than one medieval princess, you know?

The weather got chilly and we stayed home for most of the Labour Day weekend. Some projects were finished and I’m very happy with results.

Happy! Happy! Happy! Celebrating 10 years in Canada today.

It’s been a great decade, no regrets, lots of fun. And the winter? That’s the only part I don’t like, but the rest more than makes up for it.

Although not a knitting blog, one of the funniest and best written blogs I read is Creampuff Revolution. She’s also a knitter, and occasionally she posts in her blog photos of her finished objects.  Among them, to my surprise, was her own version of the my Braided Ivy fingerless gloves.

I’ve been reading her blog (and her spouse’s blog) for years, and I was so happy to see that my work inspired her to make her own gloves.  Cheers!

My first attempt at free-motion quilting. Not perfect, I know. Free-motion quilting takes a lot of practice, but it is lots of fun too. This was a quick project, and I’m quite happy with the result.

These slippers were made with recycled fabric and vinyl that used to be a bag.  Only the top is new fabric and batting.

These slippers are cute, but they are not really what I had in mind. The sole turned out to be too thin, so they’re not comfortable to wear.

The top of these slippers was my first attempt at quilting in my sewing machine, and that worked really well.  Scarlett seems to approve them.

They are finished.

This hand towel is another fun project using charms.

I’ve started playing with the charm packs:

Some scraps of linen plus five beige 5″ by 5″ charms, and we’ve got this cute fabric basket. One down, three to go.

And it has plenty of pockets. I don’t like my tomato sauce jars banging against each other on their way home.
